Submissions Due for the Buy Local Recipe Book
SMADC’s Recipe Book invitation is open to all Maryland chefs and residents (no formal training is required!). Recipe categories include appetizers, soups and salads, side dishes, main course, desserts, cocktails and soft drinks.
Ten recipes using Maryland inspired ingredients that exemplify the bounty of the season will be showcased in the printed 2020 BLC Recipe Book. And 20 additional recipes will be selected to be published on the BLC website ‘Tips & Recipe Page’ as a Buy Local Week resource for everyone to enjoy.
SMADC hopes that the Recipe Book will raise awareness for the wealth of farm foods and beverages that are now readily available at statewide farmers’ markets, through on-farm stores and CSA’s, and at local stores and restaurants that feature Maryland farm products. The 2020 BLC Recipe Book will be offered as a ‘giveaway’ for upcoming BLC week contests and incentives (look out for more information coming soon).
Buy Local Challenge Celebration recipes must be submitted by June 15, 2020 for consideration.
